Getting Started
What is Sharedocs?
Sharedocs is a white-label document sharing platform. Create branded document libraries, invite collaborators, and control exactly who sees what — all from one dashboard.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The Free tier is completely free with no credit card required. You can upgrade at any time.
How long does it take to set up?
Under a minute. Create a library, upload your documents, and share the link — that's it.
Pricing & Billing
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes! Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades are requested through Billing Settings and reviewed by our team to ensure a smooth transition.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
Yes — save approximately 17% (2 months free) by paying annually.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, 30-day money-back guarantee on your first payment — no questions asked.
What happens to my documents if I cancel?
You downgrade to the Free tier. If you exceed Free limits, you have a 30-day grace period to export your documents before any deletion takes place.

Library Expiry
Do libraries expire?
Free-tier libraries automatically expire 6 months after creation, but you can extend them. Paid-tier users can optionally set an expiry date on any library, or leave it without an expiry so it never expires.
How do I extend a library's expiry?
Go to Library Settings → Library Lifetime and choose an extension period: 1 month, 3 months, 12 months, or a custom date.
What happens when a library expires?
The library is suspended and a full ZIP backup is emailed to all admins. The backup is available for 7 days before being permanently deleted.
Documents & Storage
What file formats are supported?
Free: PDF only. Personal: common office and file types (documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images). Professional and above: all formats with no restrictions.
What is the maximum file size?
Individual files can be up to 5 GB. If you try to upload a file that is 5 GB or larger, you will see an error before the upload begins.
What happens if I exceed my storage limit?
Uploads are blocked until you upgrade or free up space by deleting documents.
Can I export my documents?
Professional and Business users can export their entire library or specific folders as AES-256 encrypted ZIP archives. Exports are prepared in the background and available for 7 days.
Collaboration & Access
Do collaborators need to pay?
No! Only the library owner pays. Collaborators access libraries for free.
Can collaborators upload documents?
No, only library owners and admins can upload. Collaborators can view and download only.
How many collaborators can I invite?
Free: up to 5 collaborators per library. Personal: 15. Professional: 25 per library. Business: 100 per library.
Security
How is my data protected?
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL and at rest on enterprise-grade infrastructure. Document exports use AES-256 encryption. File downloads use time-limited signed URLs so links can't be shared or reused.
What authentication options are available?
Email and password with optional two-factor authentication (TOTP). Anonymous magic links for collaborators who don't need accounts. Business tier adds IP country restrictions for geo-level access control.
Where is my data stored?
Hosted on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure in the EU (Frankfurt) with 99.9% uptime SLA, automatic scaling, redundancy, and continuous monitoring.
Is Sharedocs GDPR compliant?
Yes. Sharedocs is GDPR compliant and registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO registration ZC100961). Data Processing Agreements are in place with all processors.
